Police in Dayton, Ohio, say that they stopped a loaded fuel tanker because the driver was using a cell phone behind the wheel.
On Sunday, November 2, 2025, a Dayton Police officer encountered a semi truck traveling on US-35 “that was completely loaded with fuel, and the vehicle was weaving in his lanes of travel.”

Dayton Police initiated a traffic stop and discovered that the “driver was on his cell phone.”

The tanker truck driver was cited for the cell phone violation.
“Please don’t text and drive. It is against the law, and the text can wait. Distracted driving is a common cause for crashes, including ones that result in serious injuries,” said Dayton Police.
