$4.4 million Maryland weigh station upgrade project completed
The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) announced the completion of a multi-million dollar weigh station upgrade project.
On August 31, 2026, MDOT announced that construction is complete at the US 13 Truck Weigh and Inspection Station in Delmar, north of Salisbury in Wicomico County.
Crews completed $4.4 million in upgrades to the weigh station facility, including:
- New truck height detectors and an LED signal display
- Modern deep pit scales and computer system
- Additional parking for inspections
- Upgraded traffic barriers, lighting and closed-circuit cameras
- Improved signage
- Installation of eyewash stations for safety
- Refurbished entrance gates
- New office trailers with new modular buildings for inspections on both northbound and southbound sides.
This weigh station was built in 1955 and has been operated by the Maryland State Police since 1967.
