76 of the 95 illegal truck drivers arrested in Arizona over four day operation had California CLDs, Border Patrol says 

95 truck drivers were arrested in Arizona earlier this month for being in the country illegally, Border Patrol says. 

The multi-agency operation occurred in Yuma, Arizona between August 10th and 14th, and was aimed at disrupting human and drug smuggling operations in the United States. 

According to a US Customs and Border Protection Press Release, 143 people from 18 countries were arrested during the operation. Of those people, 95 were illegal alien truck drivers with state-issued CDLs. 76 of those drivers possessed a CDL issued by the state of California, six had a New York issued CDL, and the remaining 13 had CDLs from a number of other states. 

Other arrests during the operation include four human smugglers and 17 smuggled aliens, as well as a firearm, 74 pounds of methamphetamine, and 169 pounds of marijuana. 

“We are committed to protecting our citizens from all international threats, whether that is from unlicensed or untrained drivers, or transnational criminal organizations engaged in human or drug trafficking,” said Acting Chief Patrol Agent Dustin W. Caudle of the U.S. Border Patrol’s Yuma Sector.
