Arizona authorities find 37 pounds of methamphetamine during I-40 semi truck traffic stop

The Apache County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) reported that a large quantity of methamphetamine was intercepted during a commercial vehicle traffic stop in Arizona last month.

On June 14, 2026, a Sergeant with the Apache County Special Crimes Enforcement Team initiated a traffic stop on a semi truck traveling on I-40.

While interacting with the truck driver, “several factors of criminal activity were observed,” ACSO said.

A probable cause search was conducted, leading to the discovery of 37 pounds of methamphetamine within the semi truck.

ACSO said that one subject was arrested and booked into the Apache County Jail.
