Autonomous trucking bridge planned between BNSF facility and Fort Worth warehouse

An autonomous trucking bridge is slated for completion by the end of the year to “improve freight flow” between a major BNSF intermodal facility and a Fort Worth warehouse.

The $20 million three lane bridge will connect the BNSF facility with the Alliance warehouses in Fort Worth, Texas in order to  “significantly improve freight flow while reducing truck traffic on public roads.”

According to the Fort-Worth Star Telegram, the bridge will be built over FM 156 and will be closed to regular traffic. The bridge will be used specifically for semi trucks transporting cargo between the two facilities, including autonomous semi trucks that have been operating amongst the Alliance warehouses since November 2025.

The project is expected to be completed by November 2026, and is a part of the 27,000 acre AllianceTexas development.
