Border Patrol finds 19 people crammed in belly dump trailer in Texas

US Border Patrol (USBP) stopped a major human smuggling attempt in Laredo, Texas.

On May 15, USBP detailed a recent stop made by officers with the Laredo Sector.

Officials say that a commercial truck pulling a belly dump trailer was stopped on I-35 in Laredo, Texas, as the driver attempted to bypass an immigration checkpoint.

During the traffic stop, USBP located a “desperate smuggling attempt” and found nineteen people, including an unaccompanied minor, wedged inside the belly dump trailer.

The driver of the truck was arrested on human smuggling charges.

The nineteen people found concealed in the trailer were handed over for processing and deportation.
