The Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station (MVSS) discovered multiple violations after pulling over a pickup truck driver.
The traffic stop took place on July 1, 2026, in Moreno Valley, California.
MVSS Traffic Deputies stopped a pickup with an attached trailer for a traffic stop and discovered that it was nearly 2,000 pounds overweight for the class of vehicle.

Additionally, the pickup driver was operating without a valid license.

Police used the incident as a reminder of the dangers posed by overweight vehicles.
“Overloaded or overweight vehicles aren’t just a violation—they’re a serious safety hazard. Excess weight increases stopping distance, makes vehicles harder to control, and puts extra stress on tires, brakes, and suspension systems, increasing the risk of crashes. Overweight vehicles also cause significant damage to our roads and bridges. The added weight accelerates pavement wear, creates potholes, and shortens the lifespan of infrastructure,” MVSS said.
