The California Highway Patrol (CHP) shared a truck driver’s dash cam video as a reminder of the dangers of road debris.
The video was shared by CHP on April 21, 2026. It was captured in the Coalinga, California, area.
In the video, you can see a blue Tesla traveling in left lane of the roadway. Debris appears in the roadway, and then the Tesla driver veers over to the left shoulder, where another vehicle sits in the median. The Telsa driver then swerves right, back into traffic and strikes another passenger vehicle, sending it flying into the front of the dash cammer’s truck.
There were no serious injuries, according to CHP.
“This video shows how quickly a simple roadway hazard can turn into a serious crash,” troopers said.
