Citation issued after large mineral tub falls off pickup, causing ‘havoc’ for truck drivers on I-80 in Nebraska

The Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) asked drivers to secure their loads after a recent incident on I-80

A load securement issue “cause[d] some havoc” on I-80 last week, NSP said on May 3.

Troopers say that a pickup truck hauling a “250 pound mineral tub” lost its load, leaving it in the middle of the interstate.

“The tub was one of several loaded in the bed of a pickup. The tub caused those two semis to drive off the road to avoid a collision. There were no injuries,” an NSP Public information officer told CDLLife.

“Thanks to some good investigative work, troopers were able to track down the owner, who was then cited for failure to secure the load,” Nebraska troopers said. “Whatever you’re hauling, always make sure it’s secured properly.”
