A dump truck’s lost load resulted in a commercial vehicle inspection as well as “citations and fines” on Wednesday in Fauquier County, Virginia.
On the morning of May 27, 2026, Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) deputies responded Lee Highway and Route 605, north of Warrenton, for a reported traffic hazard.
When officers arrived on scene, they discovered that “a very large boulder slid out of a dump truck onto the road.”
“HEY! YOU CAN’T PARK THERE!” FCSO joked following the truck’s load securement failure.
No injuries or property damage were reported.

The boulder was so large that it required a tow company and heavy equipment to remove it from the roadway.
“Equally heavy was the cost to the trucking company for the removal, citations and fines for not securing the load, and citations resulting from our Traffic Squad inspecting the dump truck,” FCSO said.
