A pickup truck driver was placed out-of-service and issued multiple citations after being stopped by the same Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) Highway Patrol trooper twice in two weeks.
Two weeks ago, a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) driver was stopped by an Arizona DPS trooper in the valley and discovered to be operating with no commercial driver’s license (CDL) and no seatbelt.
On July 2, 2026, AZDPS took to social media to report that the same driver was pulled over “once again” by the same trooper and still had no CDL and still failed to wear a seatbelt.
Additionally, the trooper discovered that “none of the trailer brakes were operational, with this heavy piece of machinery in tow.”
The CMV driver was issued several citations and the vehicle was placed out-of-service until a licensed CDL holder arrived and the trailer brakes were repaired.
“Commercial vehicle safety rules exist for a reason. Proper licensing ensures drivers are trained to handle complex vehicles, and working brakes are non-negotiable. Neglecting these basics puts lives in jeopardy,” said AZDPS.
