On May 1, 2026, AZDPS trooper received reports about a male subject throwing boxes from a commercial vehicle onto the shoulder of I-10 at Sibyl Road.
By the time that Arizona troopers arrived at the scene, the commercial vehicle was gone, but they located approximately 420 pounds of cardboard boxes and other trash on the shoulder.
The troopers reached out to the reporting parties, who provided video of the incident.
AZDPS was able to locate the driver, who admitted to littering.
KVOA reports that the driver will face criminal charges.
Arizona Department of Transportation crews were called in to help clean up the trash.
“Arizona has beautiful landscapes that we all work together to protect. This isn’t it. Help us keep our state and its stunning wildlife safe by holding your trash until it can be disposed of in a proper trash can,” AZDPS said.
