Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) Highway Patrol troopers recently arrested a commercial vehicle driver following a rear-end crash near Flagstaff.
The crash occurred on April 18, 2026, on I-40 outside Flagstaff, Arizona.
Arizona troopers said that a “commercial motor vehicle (CMV) pulling an Amazon trailer rear-ended a Ford Bronco hauling a U-Haul trailer at interstate speeds based on the dash camera in the CMV.”
The crash caused the SUV to roll off the roadway.

Three people inside the SUV were hospitalized with injuries.
Troopers said that the CMV driver was arrested for reckless driving and three counts of endangerment.

“Larger vehicle means more time needed to stop. If you’re driving a commercial vehicle, hauling a trailer, or just own a large vehicle, provide plenty of space between you and the cars ahead of you. If you need to stop suddenly, you’ll have enough room to do so safely,” AZDPS said.
