The Town of Goshen Police Department (GPD) took a truck driver to task for driving unsafe equipment and giving police officers a “hard time” during a traffic stop.
In an April 20, 2026, social media post, GPD called out a driver who was stopped for an “extensive safety inspection” while passing through the Goshen, New York. Police later said the stop resulted in 26 citations for various violations.
From GPD:
“Nothing to see here… Just a driver leaving a traffic stop dragging a 20-foot trail of tickets behind him.
Yeah… that happened in the Town of Goshen.
Driver got stopped with an illegal and dangerous commercial vehicle, went through an extensive safety inspection, and let’s just say… it did not go well.
The stack of tickets was so long it that the three of them played JUMP ROPE with it. We are NOT KIDDING.
This commercial vehicle operator, who had no ties to Goshen, seemed to think it was a good idea to give our officers a hard time through the entire stop.
Not a good idea when you’re driving a hunk of junk and hauling a trailer full of crap through our town.
So… we’ve impounded his vehicle, just to drive home the point that road safety isn’t exactly a punchline to your jokes.
Drive safe, keep it legal… or you might end up with your own 20 foot long paper trail.
See you in court, buddy.“
