The Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) arrested and charged a California-based truck driver after discovering hundreds of pounds of cocaine during a commercial vehicle inspection on I-80.
On Tuesday, February 24, 2026, a NSP Carrier Enforcement trooper conducted a commercial vehicle inspection on a semi truck at mile marker 254 on I-80.
The trooper became suspicious of criminal activity during the inspection, according to NSP.
A canine unit alerted to the presence of drugs inside the cab of the semi truck.
When police searched the cab, they discovered 242 pounds of cocaine concealed under the bed in the sleeper berth area.
Following the discovery of the cocaine, truck driver Arwinderjit Singh, 30, of Manteca, California, was arrested and booked into the Dawson County Jail.
Singh faces charges including possession of cocaine, possession with intent to deliver, possession of an open alcohol container, and displaying a fictitious license plate.
