CVSA blitz resulting in 5,000 violations and warnings for CMV drivers last year is underway now

The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s (CVSA) weeklong driver-focused enforcement campaign is currently underway in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada.

The CVSA’s Operation Safe Driver Week takes place July 12 — 18, 2026, in jurisdictions across North America.

During Operation Safe Driver Week 2025, 3,230 warnings and 1,839 tickets/citations were issued to commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers, and 345 warnings and 665 tickets/citations were issued to passenger vehicle drivers for various unsafe driving behaviors.

During Operation Safe Driver Week, law enforcement agencies increase patrols on both passenger and commercial vehicle traffic.

Police will be on the lookout for violations including:

“By participating in this important safety initiative, law enforcement jurisdictions throughout North America are focusing on identifying and stopping hazardous driving habits with the goal of preventing crashes before they happen,” the CVSA said.
