Dozens of charges were issued following a recent commercial vehicle enforcement effort in Ontario, Canada.
Last weekend, a “proactive commercial motor vehicle enforcement” operation with conducted by a Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) certified officer from the Marathon Detachment, according to a May 13 statement from Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) – North West Region.
The operation yielded the following results:
OPP highlighted one of the most alarming violations discovered during the weekend CVSA blitz.
“In one case, an 8-ton steel roll was actively falling through its trailer as a result of severe frame damage, posing a serious risk to public safety,” police said.

“These efforts demonstrate the critical role CVSA inspections play in identifying unsafe vehicles and preventing potentially dangerous situations before they result in harm. Keeping our roads safe remains a top priority,” said OPP.
