Driver found at motel without milk tanker claims his PTSD affected his judgement, Sheriff says

A truck driver who briefly went missing late last week told police that PTSD may have affected his judgement and the actions that prompted the missing person report.

77-year-old Gordon P. Wolschleger was reported missing on Friday, February 13th after missing a regular late night delivery to St. Johns, Michigan.

According to ABC12, Wolschleger frequently hauls milk for Rathmourne Dairy in Port Hope to a facility in St. Johns, but missed his 2 a.m. delivery time. A missing persons report was issued for Wolschleger on Friday, and police called on the public to help locate him.

Later that evening. Wolscheleger was found safe at a motel in Buena Vista Township without his milk tanker. The tanker was located at a different motel 30 miles away. Police say there was no foul play or criminal activity against Wolschleger involved in his disappearance.

“However, it was claimed some of his judgment and actions may have been influenced by PTSD-related effects from his military service years ago,” Hanson said.

No further details on the driver’s whereabouts or activities have been released. It is unclear if he is facing any criminal charges.
