A truck driver is in ICE custody after running a red light at an intersection in Indiana and causing a fatal crash.
The accident happened on Wednesday, February 18th in Hendricks County, Indiana west of Indianapolis.
According to Fox News, truck driver Singh Sukhdeep was driving a Freightliner when he ran a red light and crashed into a Chevy pickup truck. The force of the collision sent the pickup spinning across the intersection, where it crashed into another vehicle.
The motorist in the pickup, 64-year-old Terry Schultz, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
Sukhdeep was reportedly caught illegally crossing the US border in 2018 as a minor, but was released under the 1997 Flores consent decree – a ruling related to a class action lawsuit filed on behalf of illegal alien children. Sukhdeep obtained his CDL in Pennsylvania in May 2025.
“It is incredibly dangerous for illegal aliens, who often don’t know our traffic laws or even English, to be operating semi-trucks on America’s roads. These tragedies are 100% preventable and we pray for the family and victim,” the DHS said in a statement.
Sukhdeep is currently in ICE custody. No information on other charges from the crash has been released.
