FBI seeks info on truck driver who vanished during suspected hijacking from Florida I-95 rest area while hauling cars

The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) Tampa Field Office in Florida is asking for public help in their investigation into a truck driver’s disappearance under suspicious circumstances.

On April 24, 2026, the FBI issued a missing person’s alert for truck driver Alejandro Jacomino Gonzalez, 41.

Officials say that Gonzalez has not been seen since April 17, 2026.

Truck Driver Last Seen At Brevard County Rest Area

On April 16, Gonzalez picked up a load of multiple vehicles from the Port of Brunswick in Georgia. He then started driving south to his delivery location in Miami, Florida.

At 1:21 a.m. on April 17, Gonzalez stopped and rested for several hours at the Brevard County Rest Area off I-95 south near Grant-Valkaria, Florida, the FBI said.

At 7:49 a.m., GPS data from Gonzalez’s truck shows that it was driven drove south one exit and then turned north towards Jacksonville, Florida. 

Soon after, Gonzalez became unreachable and the truck was reported missing.

On April 17, the truck was found in Port Wentworth, Georgia, but Gonzalez was not with the vehicle, and several of the vehicles being transported were missing.

Since then, three of the vehicles have been recovered, but others remain missing.

Gonzalez also remains missing.

FBI Asks For Photos And Video From Brevard County Rest Area

From the FBI:

“The FBI is seeking photos and video footage from any people located in or around the Brevard County Rest Area in Grant-Valkaria, Florida, between the hours of 1 a.m. and 8 a.m., on Friday, April 17, 2026, specifically focusing on the southern portion of the rest area near the ramp that enters back onto I-95 South. The public is encouraged to share any personal videos or photographs of the Brevard County Rest Area in Grant-Valkaria, Florida, and surrounding area to FBI – Seeking information in Brevard County Car Hauler Hijacking.”
