A multi-agency cargo theft investigation led police to arrest an individual for drug trafficking, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO).
Police say that a cargo theft investigation was launched after they received information regarding a stolen trailer containing JBL speakers.
On January 10, 2026, the stolen trailer was tracked using GPS to a warehouse in Doral, Florida.
According to MDSO, “during the course of their cargo investigation, [officers] observed an individual acting suspiciously and standing near several pallets, containing unknown items on the side of the road.”
When officers approached, the individual ran, but he was captured and taken into custody following a brief foot pursuit.
When police searched the pallets, they discovered approximately 233 pounds of marijuana.
$36,158 in US currency was also seized.
The arrested individual was identified as Kadniel Blackwood, 30. Blackwood faces charges of trafficking cannabis and resisting arrest without violence.
The Cargo Theft Task Force investigating the stolen trailer included members of the MDSO Organized Crime Bureau (OCB) Cargo Theft Unit and the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
