FMCSA joins Maryland troopers for I-81 blitz resulting in 24 out-of-service orders

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) partnered with Maryland agencies for a commercial vehicle enforcement operation along I-81.

On July 21, FMCSA released results from a recent collaboration with Maryland State Police and the Maryland Department of the Environment to conduct “a targeted inspection and high-visibility enforcement effort along the I-81 corridor.”

Officials completed 37 commercial vehicle inspections, resulting in the following:

FMCSA said that the purpose of the inspections is to “identify safety issues, improve compliance, and reduce risks on our roadways.”
