Four charged for filling up multiple semi trucks as part of diesel theft scheme in Florida

Four people were charged in Florida in connection with an organized diesel fuel theft operation, authorities said.

On March 10, 2026, the Office of Agricultural Law Enforcement (OALE) announced that Elieser Perez, Sergio Machin, Sofiel Ferino, and Sediel Carrazana were charged with multiple felony counts, including Organized Fraud, Retail Fuel Theft by Physically Tampering with a Fuel Dispenser, and Grand Theft.

OALE

OALE said that the four suspects took part in a diesel fuel theft scheme in Santa Rosa County, Florida.

“Surveillance footage and reports revealed that the suspects used magnets to manipulate fuel pump solenoids by opening pump panels, allowing fuel to be dispensed without payment. Video evidence showed the suspects tampering with a fuel pump and filling multiple semi-truck tanks,” authorities said in a release announcing the arrests.

Investigators used license plate records, prior citations, and business records to link the four suspects to the diesel theft incidents.

OALE

OALE said that the diesel theft incidents resulted in “significant financial losses.”
