The Houston Police Department (HPD) seized hundreds of pounds of methamphetamine following a traffic stop on a semi truck.
A traffic stop in Houston, Texas, resulted in the seizure of 396 kilograms (873 pounds) of methamphetamine from a semi trailer’s “false compartment,” according to a May 7 statement from HPD.

The drug seizure led to the arrest of an armed suspect.

Police located an additional 73 kilograms of methamphetamine and cash at suspect’s residence.
The drug seizure and subsequent arrest occurred as part of a joint investigation involving the HPD’s Narcotics Division, Squad 5, partnered with the DEA Galveston Office, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (Houston), and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
“We thank our partners for their continued commitment to keeping dangerous drugs off our streets,” HPD said.
