Something big is coming. After months of work behind the scenes, the CDLLife app has been rebuilt from the ground up — and it’s almost ready for the road. This major update releasing soon is a reimagined experience designed to better serve the millions who turn to CDLLife every day for jobs, news, and community. But first, we wanted to give a heads up to the users who have been rolling with us for a while on how you’ll update to the new experience when it releases shortly.

If you are an existing user who has already created an account, there are a few steps you will follow to ensure you can enjoy all the new features. Please note that if you are a new user, select Sign Up and follow the instructions to create a new account.

Easy as 123:

1. Update your App to the latest version via the Apple or Google Play Store. (This should happen automatically overnight, but head to the Store if your app has not updated to the new blue logo.)
2. Login to your Account as you normally would.
3. Instead of entering a Password this time, you will need to enter either an active email address or a valid phone number if you haven’t already. An OTP code will be sent to either the email address or phone number in order to secure your login. Enter the code to complete login.

If you haven’t already added either an email address or a phone number to your CDLLife Account, you can prepare for the new App by doing this now.

Why can’t I only use a password any more?

In the latest CDLLife app update we are prioritizing increased safety measures – and switching to an OTP method increases overall Account security.

A Note on the Previous App:

As part of this new chapter, the CDLLife team took a hard look at everything the previous app was carrying throughout its long history of development — and made some tough calls. A handful of old features that weren’t seeing much use (such as Karma Miles) are being cleared out to make room for a faster, cleaner experience. That doesn’t mean they’re gone forever. (Many of them have just moved around a little for a better experience, like Places!).

If the community speaks up and the demand is there, we can absolutely work to bring them back in a future update, and we will be asking for your feedback throughout the next few weeks in polls and pinned posts on the CDLLife Feed. 

So, consider this first rollout to be about building a solid foundation and allowing us to test out the new app’s functionalities, not a final statement — and your feedback is exactly what will determine what gets added, restored, or reimagined next. We simply ask for your patience as we seek to build the best experience for everyone, and promise that we will be listening to all feedback!
