I-35 billboard featuring actual semi truck on top removed after almost 30 years

A billboard featuring an actual semi truck perched on top was removed after nearly 30 years decorating Interstate 35 in Texas.

The bright yellow semi truck was hoisted on top of the billboard back in 1997 along Interstate 35 near Waco, Texas as an advertisement for Central Texas Frame and Alignment.

Now, the original owner of Central Texas Frame and Alignment has passed away, but his daughter says that the company is still going strong. For a while, Central Texas Frame and Alignment was operating out of two locations, but the company has now decided to merge the business into one location, and it’s taking the bright yellow semi truck with it.

“It’s been a little bit of a hard day seeing it come down,” daughter Gabriella Mocuta said to KWTX10.

“It’s definitely been a statement piece and is something that is a part of him to us, but we are grateful we are able to take it with us. Customers talk to us about it all the time… People will just pull off the highway to ask us about it and to take pictures.”

The truck will now make its way to Waxahatchie, where it will find its new home at the consolidated business location.
