Seven rest areas throughout Montana will soon feature a truck parking availability system to aid truck drivers in finding a safe place to stop.
Seven rest areas along the Interstate 90 corridor in Montana will soon be equipped with a Truck Parking Availability Information System that will provide passing truck drivers with real-time information about available parking spaces at the location.
According to the Montana Department of Transportation, these locations include Columbus east and westbound, Greycliff east and westbound, Headwaters, and Homestake east and westbound. Drivers and dispatchers will be able to access the real-time parking information through electronic road signs and in-cab displays and the Drivewyze mobile app.
The project is funded by a $1 million grant from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration as part of a High Priority Information Technology Deployment project.
