Indiana troopers inspected 4,694 commercial vehicles and issued 1,147 out-of-service orders in a single month

Indiana State Police (ISP) inspected thousands of trucks and placed hundreds of commercial vehicles and drivers out-of-service during a month-long period.

This week, ISP released statistics from the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division (CVED) for the period of April 15 — May 15, 2026.

See below for key results.

ISP’s CVED is in charge of conducting Safety Inspections, New Entrant Safety Audits, and Compliance Reviews to ensure compliance with equipment and hours-of-service regulations.

CVED troopers also enforce Indiana’s size and weight laws and ensure that commercial carriers are properly registered and paying their fair share of fuel tax dollars.
