Iowa troopers catch truck driver limping to shop with flat tire and alignment issue

The Iowa State Patrol (ISP) removed a semi trailer from the road for multiple safety violations this week.

On Sunday, July 26, 2026, an ISP Commercial Motor Vehicle Unit trooper responded to a traffic complaint.

The trooper “observed a truck traveling within its lane while the attached trailer was partially on the shoulder.”

ISP said that the driver was trying to reach a mechanic stop several miles away and that he “believed the issue was limited to a flat tire and an alignment problem.”

Troopers said that the trailer was ordered out-of-service and removed from the roadway.
