Law enforcement to educate truckers as part of CVSA’s five-day human trafficking initiative now underway across the U.S.

The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s (CVSA) is partnering with law enforcement agencies across the country for a campaign to fight human trafficking by educating members of the trucking community on signs to look for and how to respond.

The CVSA’s annual Human Trafficking Awareness Initiative (HTAI) is taking place in the U.S. from January 12 — 16, 2026.

The purpose of HTAI is to provide education and outreach to commercial motor vehicle drivers, motor carriers, and the general public on the crime of human trafficking, the signs to look for and what to do if you suspect someone is being trafficked.

During the five-day effort, CVSA jurisdictions conduct human trafficking awareness and outreach efforts and report those activities back to CVSA. The results of HTAI will be shared with the public later in the year.

HTAI will also take place in Canada on February 23 — 27, 2026. In Mexico, HTAI will be held March 16 — 20, 2026.
