Lawyers representing driver in infamous Florida u-turn crash granted request for more time

A judge has granted a request for more time from the lawyers representing the truck driver in the infamous Florida u-turn crash that killed three people last summer.

The crash happened in August 2025 when truck driver Harjinder Singh attempted an illegal u-turn that left him blocking the lanes on the Florida turnpike. A car then crashed into the side of the truck, killing three people. The request was made in court on Thursday, March 26th.  Singh has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, including manslaughter and vehicular homicide.

According to ABC25, the lawyers representing Singh appeared in court without him on Thursday to request more time to prepare for the case, as well as raise concerns over a third-party attorney looking to participate in the case.

“Last evening I filed a motion to quash with the memo of law, and that has to be addressed because he has no affiliation in this case nor to my client,” said Natalie Knight-Tai.

The judge granted the attorneys’ request for continuance, and set a new docket call for May 21st at 9 a.m. There is also a hearing scheduled in Fort Pierce, Florida for next week.
