Louisiana troopers share video to show what inspectors will look for during next week’s CVSA Roadcheck

Louisiana State Police (LSP) shared a video to help truck drivers and carriers prepare for next week’s Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) International Roadcheck inspection campaign.

With the 2026 Roadcheck campaign only a week away, LSP shared an informative video to help truckers prepare for the 72-hour inspection effort taking place throughout North America May 12 — May 14.

With Electronic Logging Device (ELD) tampering being a focus area for Roadcheck, LSP shared that inspectors will be paying close attention for signs of altered Records of Duty status. Inspectors will look for ELD tampering techniques like creating a fictitious driver to reassign driving time or drivers logging into the ELD using fraudulent credentials.

Cargo securement is the other area of focus for Roadcheck 2026. LSP provides a quick refresher on the number of tie downs needed based on the length and weight of the cargo, as well as whether the cargo is blocked from forward movement.
