Nevada Flying J to close as part of casino resort shut down

A Flying J truck stop in Nevada is closing as part of a casino resort shut down south of Las Vegas over the next few months.

Primm Valley Casino Resorts in Primm, Nevada reportedly sent out a termination notice to all staff living in employee housing on Tuesday, May 5th, instructing tenants to move out by July 6th. The entire casino property will shut down after its last day on July 4th.

According to 8NewsNow, the resort closure includes five properties in the area owned by the company: Primm Valley Resorts, Buffalo Bill’s Resort & Casino, Whiskey Pete’s Hotel & Casino, Primm Center, and Flying J. Whiskey Pete’s was closed in December 2024, and Buffalo Bill’s was used for events only starting July 2025.

The company says it is planning a proper transition for employees with the help of the State of Nevada Rapid Response team, and will soon begin coordinating government assistance for staff.
