New Hampshire motor carrier troopers sideline pickup hauling trailer for weight and safety violations

Published:

New Hampshire State Police (NHSP) recently placed a pickup truck hauling a trailer out-of-service after a commercial vehicle inspection uncovered multiple safety violations.

On February 19, NHSP reported that officers with the Troop G barracks (Motor Carrier Enforcement Unit) had recently conducted an inspection on a pickup with an attached trailer in Hooksett.

The following violations were uncovered during the inspection.

  • Pickup and trailer combination was too heavy, exceeding the gross vehicle weight rating
  • Driver lacked the required credentials for commercial operation
  • Trailer showed signs of significant structural concerns, including cracks on the frame

Due to the violations discovered during the inspection, the trailer was placed out-of-service.

“We will continue our efforts to keep New Hampshire roads safe by finding, stopping, and removing unsafe vehicles,” said NHSP.
