No serious injuries in crash with wrong-way motorist thanks to attentive truck driver

No one was seriously hurt in a crash involving a wrong-way motorist thanks to the actions of an attentive truck driver earlier this week.

The accident happened on Highway 69 in Hardin County, Texas on Wednesday, March 25th at about 7:30 p.m.

According to 6KFDM, 62-year-old motorist Kenneth McHenry was traveling south in the northbound lanes of Highway 69 near Keith Road, prompting multiple calls to police. Multiple departments responded to the calls and attempted to contact the wrong-way motorist, but were unable to get them to stop.

McHenry then crashed into a tractor trailer, smashing the hood of his SUV. Police say that the truck driver had already come to a near stop, preventing a more serious crash. McHenry was taken to the hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries. The 54-year-old truck driver was also taken to a nearby hospital with non life threatening injuries.

No further information on the crash has been released.
