The North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) issued a reminder about permits after a sign was damaged by an over-height load.
On March 3, 2026, North Dakota troopers took to social media to share a “tip” about over-height loads.
“Tip of the day: Loads over 14’ high require a permit. We require permits to protect our infrastructure, the load, and the traveling public,” NDHP said.
NDHP also shared several photos of the incident that promoted the reminder about the permits. In the photos, you can see damage to both a bin that was being hauled by a pickup truck and to an overhead highway sign.
