The New York State (NYS) Thruway Authority has implemented new operating hours for Welcome Centers.
Effective May 4, 2026, all three NYS Welcome Centers operated by the Thruway Authority will be closed during the overnight hours, the NYS Thruway Authority announced.
New operating hours for the following locations are 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week.
- Capital Region Welcome Center (I-87 north, between exits 21B and 21A)
- New Baltimore Service Area located on the other side of the Thruway and is open 24/7/365
- Mohawk Valley Welcome Center (I-90 west, between exits 28 and 29)
- Iroquois Service Area located approximately 22 miles to the west open 24/7/365
- Western NY Welcome Center (off I-190, exit 19)
- Pembroke Service Area (37 miles to the east) and Angola Service Area (38 miles to the west) open 24/7/365
Food service and restroom facilities will not be available at these locations overnight, but parking will remain open.
All 27 of the NYS Thruway Service Areas will remain open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
