Officer drives into path of runaway semi truck to stop driver’s medical emergency

A police officer drove into the path of a runaway semi truck to stop the rig during the driver’s medical emergency. 

The incident happened at around 2:45 p.m. on Friday, January 16th in Springfield, Massachusetts. 

According to Western Mass News, A Massachusetts State Police Trooper was on patrol when he noticed a truck driver appeared to be having a medical emergency, resulting in a runaway semi truck. 

The trooper soon positioned the police cruiser in the path of the runaway truck, stopping the driver’s medical emergency and out of control semi truck. 

No one was hurt, but the truck driver was unresponsive and taken to the hospital. The incident is still under investigation.
