Ohio DOT calls out truck driver for U-turn fail caught on traffic camera

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) shared a traffic camera video to make a teaching moment out of a truck driver’s improper use of a Restricted Crossing U-Turn (RCUT).

The traffic cam video was captured in Coolville, Athens County, Ohio, and shared by ODOT on March 23.

In the video, you can see a semi truck entering the RCUT from the wrong direction and then attempting a U-turn. The truck nearly goes into a ditch on the side of the roadway and then becomes stuck with the trailer blocking both lanes of US-50.

‘This is NOT how RCUTs work. Please, don’t be this driver,” said ODOT.
