Ohio DOT calls out truck driver for U-turn fail caught on traffic camera

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) shared a traffic camera video to make a teaching moment out of a truck driver’s improper use of a Restricted Crossing U-Turn (RCUT).

The traffic cam video was captured in Coolville, Athens County, Ohio, and shared by ODOT on March 23.

In the video, you can see a semi truck entering the RCUT from the wrong direction and then attempting a U-turn. The truck nearly goes into a ditch on the side of the roadway and then becomes stuck with the trailer blocking both lanes of the highway.

‘This is NOT how RCUTs work. Please, don’t be this driver,” said ODOT.
