Police uncovered several violations during a traffic stop on a semi truck in Pryor Creek, Oklahoma, including the transportation of alcohol and tobacco products not listed on the shipping manifest.
On January 4, 2026, a Pryor Creek Police officers stopped a semi truck at SE 49th Street and Mill Street for reckless driving.

“During the stop, officers identified multiple regulatory violations involving registration, insurance, and DOT information. The semi was impounded, and an inventory was conducted. During the investigation, officers discovered a large quantity of undocumented alcohol and tobacco products that were not listed on any shipping manifests. Due to the volume of cargo and concerns identified, a search warrant was obtained and executed,” said Jeremy Cantrell, Pryor Creek Police Chief.

Police also said that the driver of the semi truck, identified as Humberto Ruiz, was on federal probation.

Police seized the undocumented alcohol and tobacco.
Possible charges could include Illegal Transportation of Alcohol and Shipping/Transporting Contraband Tobacco Products.

The case is under review by the Mayes County District Attorney’s Office.
“This case highlights the importance of commercial vehicle enforcement, attention to detail, and keeping our roadways safe,” said Cantrell.
