Oregon sheriff releases video of I-84 hit-and-run rollover crash to help locate involved big rig

The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office released dash cam video of a major rollover crash that occurred on I-84 this week to help identify an involved semi truck that left the scene.

The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash on eastbound I-84 in Multnomah County, Oregon, around 9 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026.

Deputies say that a blue or purple semi with an attached trailer “initiated a lane change into the path of a white-colored commercial water truck,” causing the trailer to impact the front passenger side of the water truck.

The water truck driver lost control and left the interstate, crashing 100 feet into a wooded area and rolling over.

The driver and passenger in the water truck were not seriously injured.

“The semi-truck driver did not stop. The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office needs assistance locating and identifying the driver of the semi-truck and its owner,” the agency said.
