OSHA issues 19 violations to big rig parts and service company after worker’s death in tanker

Federal authorities discovered more than a dozen violations while investigating a semi truck parts distributor and service company for a worker fatality in Texas.

On July 15, 2026, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) announced that FleetPride Inc. was cited for 19 violations, including 16 serious and three other-than-serious safety violations.

OSHA initiated an inspection into the company after a worker asphyxiated while inspecting a tanker trailer on January 7, 2026, at the company’s Corpus Christi facility.

The worker was identified as Juan Antonio Garza Jr., 63.

Investigators said that the company “exposed workers to confined space and other safety hazards.”

The violations uncovered by OSHA investigators included failure to implement a confined space program, lacking elements for its respiratory protection program, and exposing workers to electrical hazards.

OSHA proposed a fine of $264,380 for the violations.
