Over $3 million in illegal marijuana seized during two ‘routine’ CMV inspections on I-40, Arkansas troopers say

Arkansas Highway Police (AHP) located and seized hundreds of pounds of illegal marijuana during two commercial vehicle inspections that both took place on I-40 on the same day.

Troopers say that the drug seizures took place on December 29, 2025, “during routine Federal Motor Carrier safety inspections on I-40 Eastbound in Arkansas.”

The first inspection started just before 10 a.m. when an AHP trooper stopped a commercial semi truck at mile marker 134. Following the roadside inspection, AHP seized 531 pounds of illegal marijuana with an estimated street value of $1,593,000.

The second inspection took place at 1:42 p.m. on I-40 east at mile marker 183. During this inspection, AHP located and seized 504 pounds of illegal marijuana valued at approximately $1,512,000.

The estimated total street value of the seized marijuana is $3,105,000.
