A truck driver is facing drug trafficking charges after authorities seized hundreds of pounds of liquid methamphetamine from a semi truck’s fuel tank at a California border crossing.
The drug seizure took place on March 2, 2026, at the Otay Mesa Import Cargo Facility located in Otay Mesa, California.
Around 11:20 a.m, a 2019 Kenworth T680 commercial tractor-trailer entered the facility.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of California, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer “observed a white, crystalline substance atop the passenger-side fuel tank.”
Following further inspection, officers discovered 29 buckets-worth of liquid methamphetamine concealed in the passenger-side fuel tank of the vehicle.
The total weight of the liquid methamphetamine seized from the fuel tank is 944.90 pounds.
Truck driver Oscar Alonzo Cesena Camacho, 26, described as “a Mexican citizen traveling on a business visa,” was arrested for Importation of a Controlled Substance.
He faces a maximum penalty of life in prison with mandatory minimum 10 years and a $10 million fine.
