Buc-ee’s seems to be making yet another move against commercial vehicles according to patrons of the Bastrop location.
Earlier this month, the Buc-ee’s in Bastrop, Texas posted curbside signs banning semi trucks, as usual. But this time, the signs included images of a dump truck and even a pickup pulling a trailer.
A post made to Facebook by a Buc-ee’s patron named Darren Nichols about the apparent truck-wide ban has been circulating recently. The post shows pictures of the no trucks sign, but also shows multiple work trucks of several kinds fueling up at the rest-stop-type location, pointing out the discrepancies in enforcement.
“Apparently, they are changing their policies again. Not only are tractor trailers not allowed on their property, but they are now enforcing a policy that prohibits any commercial vehicles pulling trailers, including dump trucks and work trucks with equipment trailers,” Nichols said.
“What made this confusing is that earlier this morning I saw at least 50 tree service trucks pulling trailers fueling up, and even now there are dozens of trucks here with trailers, some hauling bobcats and other equipment,” he continued.
“After getting my breakfast, I was sitting in my truck eating when an attendant knocked on my window and told me I was not welcome and needed to leave due to this new policy. I went inside and asked to speak with a manager. He was very professional and polite, and explained that this policy change is being rolled out nationwide at Buc-ee’s locations.”
“Just sharing the experience for anyone who relies on Buc-ee’s while traveling with a work truck or trailer.”
Buc-ee’s has not responded to requests for comment from news outlets such as My SanAntonio. There are no publicly available policy documents outlining company policies regarding trucks of any kind.
