The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that more than 300 dedicated truck parking spaces have opened at two dozen locations across the state since last fall.
PennDOT announced on Wednesday that 339 dedicated truck parking spaces have been created at 24 locations across the state as part of an initiative announced in October 2025.
All of the new truck parking spaces are marked with truck-parking signage installed by PennDOT.
Officials added the new truck parking spaces at interstate on-ramps, other PennDOT-owned sites, and weigh stations where Pennsylvania State Police conduct motor carrier safety enforcement, including:
You can locate the new truck parking spaces using the new “Public Truck Parking” option on www.511PA.com and the 511PA smartphone application.
“As a commercial driver’s license holder, I know how critical safe parking options are for the people who keep goods moving to and through Pennsylvania. The Shapiro Administration is wasting no time in making good on this commitment to give them more options to meet their federal rest requirements,” PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll said. “This is a commonsense approach to enhance safety, and the department is looking at ways to add even more spaces.
The 339 new truck parking spots will go toward the 1,200 spaces that PennDOT has committed to adding by the end of 2026. PennDOT hopes that the truck parking expansion effort will reduce driver fatigue and improve overall highway safety within the state.
