Pennsylvania man accused of intentionally hitting semi truck driver on foot with pickup truck at Fairfield Inn

A Pennsylvania man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly struck a pedestrian truck driver and police vehicles with a pickup truck.

On May 16, 2026, Adam Christopher Quigley, 39, was arrested by Lock Haven City Police on 13 felony charges including Aggravated Assault and Attempted Homicide by Vehicle, as well as additional misdemeanor offenses including DUI, Simple Assault and Resisting Arrest, according to the Clinton County District Attorney’s Office (CCDA).

Officials said that Quigley “allegedly operated a GMC pickup truck in the vicinity of the Fairfield Inn at 50 Spring Street in Lock Haven and intentionally struck a commercial truck driver walking alongside his tractor trailer parked in the area.”

After hitting the truck driver, Quigley reportedly fled the area in the pickup, which belonged to his employer. He fled from police, who began pursing him following a 911 call from the Fairfield Inn.

“Quigley is alleged to have rammed a CU- Lock Haven Police Vehicle and a Lock Haven City Police vehicle before his pickup truck was disabled in the area of West Bald Eagle Street,” authorities said.

Quigley resisted arrest but was taken into custody with help from Pennsylvania troopers.

“Quigley was later transported to the Clinton County Correctional Facility where he allegedly attempted to escape police custody again. Police body camera and surveillance videos showed that when Quigley began to attempt to run, the leg restraints that had been applied by police cased Quigley to fall and hit his face on the concrete just outside of the entrance of the Correctional Facility.  Police then transported Quigley for medical treatment at Lock Haven Hospital ER.  He was later committed to the Correctional Facility without further incident,” the CCDA said.

On May 19, Quigley was denied bail during a hearing in the Clinton County Court of Common Pleas. He was also ordered to undergo a competency evaluation.

The hearing was attended by the victim truck driver, who traveled to the hearing from Indiana to testify.

The dash cam video from the GMC pickup was also viewed during the hearing, showing “Quigley’s truck striking the truck driver, and ramming 2 police vehicles.”
