Peterbilt Motors Company rolled out a limited-edition Model 589 to celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday.
On May 21, 2026, Peterbilt debuted the Freedom 250 Special Edition Model 589, “a limited-production truck honoring the enduring spirit of America and the nation’s historic 250th birthday.”
Peterbilt will only build 250 of the trucks, making them “a collector’s item and a bold statement of Peterbilt pride.”
Exterior features include:
- Stars & Stripes sleeper badge available on 58″, 72″ and 80″ sleepers
- Freedom 250 etched exhaust guards
- Texas square bumper
- Exclusive Freedom 250 3-color paint scheme featuring Freedom Red and Freedom Blue metallic paint.
Interior features include:
- Sandstone or Alpine Gray Platinum trim levels
- Custom, black leather seats embroidered with the Freedom 250 logo in the headrest
- Freedom 250 commemorative badge on the dash
“The Freedom 250 Special Edition Model 589 is a tribute to the resilience and greatness of our nation and to the hardworking men and women who keep America moving every day,” said Erik Johnson, Peterbilt assistant general manager sales and marketing. “This truck delivers the superior quality and pride of ownership that Peterbilt customers expect, wrapped in a design that celebrates 250 years of freedom and the enduring Class of the open road.”
The Freedom 250 Special Edition Model 589 will be available from dealerships through the end of the year.
Truck maker Kenworth is also offering a special‑edition red, white, and blue paint scheme in honor of the nation’s 250th birthday.
