Law enforcement in Ontario, Canada, issued charges and an out-of-service order after finding a long list of equipment violations on a truck that bypassed the scales.
On March 9, 2026, the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) said that a commercial vehicle that bypassed a scale facility along the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) using “a known bypass route” was stopped by Constable Barnes.
