Police are searching for a presumed truck driver after a crash involving a four wheeler and an abandoned trailer on Wednesday morning.
The accident happened on March 4th at around 6 a.m. on the northbound side of Interstate 95 near exit 4 in Attleboro, Massachusetts, reported Turnto10 News.
According to Boston 25, police arrived to find a Honda Civic with its front half completely underneath a detached trailer left on the side of the interstate. A second tractor trailer was also seen stopped partially off the roadway a very short distance from the crashed car.
The person inside of the crashed car was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. He has been identified as 43-year-old Chad Askew. No truck drivers were on the scene when police arrived at the site. One man, a presumed truck driver, was spotted fleeing the scene on foot after the crash. He was wearing shorts and boots.
No further details about the crash have been released, and police are still searching for the man in shorts and boots. The District Attorney’s office did confirm that no truck drivers were on the scene at the time of the crash, but did not confirm whether the man who fled was a truck driver.
